i know all of my basic chords, and i can read tablature, but i really want to learn more on my own. i am looking for some good, free online resources that give good guitar tutorials.
i have played acoustic off and on for many years and am familiar like i said with many basic chords.
But i’m really looking to solo now, as i just got my first electric guitar, so i really want the focus of my learning to be on soloing on the electric guitar.
Guitartricks.com is really good you can get 20 free lessons but they ain’t that good or its $11 a month. I think thats good cos you coul learn every hour of every day and pay less than what you pay for a half hour with one teacher. There’s about 3500 lessons and 50 guitar teach with basicly all genre’s of guitar at all levels.
Now it is just time to start improvising. A good way to do that is to first improvise on chord tones only. Start playing with rhythm. Then start adding passing tones between notes and keep going until you can do it comfortably. When it comes to soloing, on any instrument, it is less “learning” to do it and just doing it. You will probably be awful when you first start (I know I was as were EVERY person I’ve ever talked to about improvisation, including pros) but you just keep working to get better.
well… u can always go and get guitarpro 5. it’s a learning soft ware which shows u the tabs, plays the musik (bass guitar drums everything) and u can change the speed it plays at. there’s a little line running from top to bottom which shows which note u are on, and it’s really useful for learning how to play songs, or in ur case solos. U first get the software and download guitar pro files which u can get off of ultimateguitar.com then from the software u open these downloaded files and wallah, it’s there. only prob is the software costs a hundred bux… but u can always download off mininova…. lol good luck playin.
Go on YouTube… you will find top guitar players and video lessns as well.
You can see top players showing a slowed down version of what they are playing and then, the up to speed version.
