Could a doctor please lay education, activities path that helped you get into medical school.?
I am thinking about getting involved into the medical field and I would like to know what could get me into medical school. I am currently a sophomore.

Assuming that you are a sophomore in high school, your primary objective is getting into a university. I agree with about 95% of the advice offered by the physician who wrote this site: http://people.howstuffworks.com/becoming-a-doctor.htm

Good MCAT scores (at least 30, but the higher the better)
Good GPA (at least 3.5, but the higher the better, which is also influenced by the undergraduate program you attend)
Extracurricular/volunteer activities (anything that you have an interest in and can demonstrate your leadership and interpersonal skills)
Good letters of recommendation (if possible from people who know you well and will not write a generic letter that states you are a good student)
Interesting personal statement (just don’t say anything outrageous or controversial)
Good interpersonal/interviewing skills
Research activities (and publications if you have them, but not necessary)
Absence of a criminal background (not kidding, may become an issue later)
Most importantly, apply broadly across the US. Don’t limit yourself to a particular geographic location (particularly California), it is hard enough to get into medical school without those restrictions.
Good luck.
